Horizon will be hosting a “Bags and Beer Tournament” on Saturday, September 18. Event will begin at 2 p.m. at the Bemis Woods North Forest Preserve in Western Springs!

Now that summer camp is over, we found out we had over 220 total participants. This is an increase of 40 people over our previous year. A special thanks goes to everyone on the recruitment committee and the camp committee for all of their hard work in making summer camp a huge success. There were a lot of new disabled adults and volunteers that were a lot of fun and we hope they continue to support Horizon throughout the year.
The week was filled with fun activities, including old favorites like Creaoke, Bill Hoffman’s Amazing Animals, pontoon boat rides just to name a few things. If you were part of this year’s camp leave a comment on what was your favorite activity (eating at the cookout doesn’t count).
It took everyone involved to make it a wonderful time and I myself can hardly wait for Summer Camp 2011. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE
July 18 summer camp Horizon 2010 will begin. A special thanks to the entire camp committee for working so hard at planning no week. It sounds like it’s going to be a wonderful week of camp with a variety of activities. If you are unable to attend for the week, we could always use your help for setting up & cleaning up camp. Horizon’s Schaumburg Flyers game fundraiser is just a month away!! We would like to have a large turnout for this event. Come visit with your friends watch affordable baseball and that evening is $2 Tuesday, this means drinks are only $2 and that includes beer!! Of course, you must be 21 years of age to purchase beer. So please send in your money ASAP, because time is running out to join in for a fabulous evening of baseball.
Sarah Hudetz has been a participant of camp for several years and with her family’s help, they will be hosting their “Horizon Camp Benefit Golf Outing” on Saturday, May 22. This event will be held at The Tamarack Golf Club located on 24032 Royal Worthington Drive in Naperville, Illinois.
Cost is $100 per person with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The price includes lunch, 18 holes of golf & dinner. Not a golfer? No problem, dinner only tickets are available for $50 per person. Horizon will be hosting its annual Golf Outing & Hawaiian Luau on Saturday, August 7, 2010. We moved the event back this year and save the date notices have been sent. Even though we move the dates back, you can still expect the same challenging golf, sensational prizes, excellent food and wonderful live music. Mark your calendars we hope to see you there.
On Saturday, April 24, Horizon held to separate and successful fundraisers. A special thank you for all of those involved in planning The Bowl for Horizon and the Pasta Party. It is not an easy task to plan such events and the organization really appreciates all the help and money raised. Keep up the good work Horizon members, friends & family.
Whether you live on the North Side of Chicago or down in the south side, we have a fundraiser which is close to you. Please join us for our Bowl for Horizon which will be held in Deerfield, or show your support at our Pasta Party we should be held in Indiana. It is time for the annual BOWL FOR HORIZON! Yes, you read it correctly. Another wonderful evening of bowling with friends and family of Horizon. Three games of bowling with a twist, dinner and a variety of prizes to be won. This year’s event will be held Saturday, April 24 at Brunswick Zone in Deerfield Illinois.
