Masquerade Bash A Success
On February 19, Horizon held a Masquerade Bash at David & Buster’s in Addison Illinois. There were over 50 people in attendance and fun was had by all. There were plenty good appetizers, excellent DJ, and even raffle prizes. When people weren’t socializing with friends, they were able to go out and play some video games. One of the highlights of the evening was a very entertaining game of musical chairs which included bananas (should’ve been there to see it). Thanks to everyone involved in planning the event and all that donated.
With more little events like these, Horizon is on its way towards reaching its fund-raising goals for the year.
Mardi Gras Bash
Is only a couple of weeks away. Come celebrate Mardi Gras Horizon style! There are tickets still available,. A good opportunity to have a fun time at Dave and Busters, while raising money for an outstanding cause. For more information please visit Mardi Gras.
2011 Summer Camp needs sponsors.
Horizon is working diligently planning this year’s summer camp program. We are anticipating over 210 total participants to attend. With more people in attendance, along with the standard increase in living, Horizon’s cost for camp rises. To help cover some of our expenses, Horizon is looking for people/companies to help sponsor camp. There are four levels of sponsorship available, but any and all donations are appreciated.

And so will Horizon Summer Camp 2011. The week to set for July 24-30, and it will be held at the beautiful Timber Pointe Outdoor Center located in Hudson Illinois. Happy New Year
Start the new year off right and join your friends from Horizon at Hackney’s on Lake Street in Glenview Illinois. Saturday, January 8 we will be hosting our annual recruitment kickoff party. You could be one of the first to complete their summer camp application for 2011. This will be our 20th year of camp. Camp applications will be available online Sunday, January 9!

Grilling for Horizon
Horizon would like to thank Michael Meyer for organizing our first Mongolian BBQ fundraiser which was held on Tuesday, December 21. It was a large turnout and raised $750 for the organization. To read more about this event click the Mongolian BBQ page.
2011 is approaching quickly
Can you believe 2010 is almost over…and you only have three days left to make your 2010 tax-deductible contribution!
In 2010, the Association of Horizon, Inc. held our largest camp session ever, giving a camping opportunity to over 90 adults with physical disabilities. Unfortunately, the record-breaking attendance also came with record-breaking costs. We will need record-breaking contributions to combat the costs of continuing our summer camp tradition. By the way, this coming year, will be our 20th annual summer camp!

Horizon Holiday Family Party
Horizon held its annual holiday family party on Saturday, December 11. A special thanks to Marcy Davis for organizing this fun event. Even though some of the how of the trivia questions were tough, everyone enjoyed playing along. The usual the Avalon Banquet Hall served us delicious food and we look forward to going back there next year.
