The Morton Grove Foundation every March sponsors a fundraiser and Horizon is one of this year’s benefactors.  The event will be held Thursday, March 11 at White Eagle Banquets in Niles Illinois.  The foundation gathers several of the local cuisine for eight evening of food tasting and entertainment.  There will be raffle prizes, silent auctions and a cash raffle drawing to round off the evening.  For more information about this event or to purchase event and or cash raffle tickets please contact Michael.Trimpe@associationofhorizon.org.

October 10th will be the 12th Annual Night at the Races Event.  Come join the fun and enjoy a wonderful buffet dinner, limited open bar, raffles, games & oh yes, exciting horse  racing!  Tickets are $50 per person or $95 a couple.

Camp t-shirts are fun to wear but have you ever wished you had a great looking Horizon t-shirt to wear that just expressed our organization and not a camp theme?

Well we did it!  The Association of Horizon, Inc has joined forces with 3E Love, LLC to give you the opportunity to show your Horizon pride. 

We are selling a long sleeve t-shirt ($18) and short sleeve t-shirt ($16) in navy blue with our name and logo on the front left chest screen printed in white. The back has the now famous saying that was posted at camp this year and at the end of our video, “Nobody has a disability. Everyone has ability. Let’s find it.”

All net proceeds from the Horizon shirts will go to Horizon.  In addition, $3 from every 3E Love item purchased with a Horizon t-shirt also be donated to Horizon.
In support of our organization, 3E Love, LLC has offered to continue to donate $3 for any 3E Love purchases after our fundraiser through December 31.  All you need to do is enter “HORIZON” in discount code box at checkout.

Saturday, June 13, Horizon will be hosting its annual Golf Scramble and Luau.  Golfers will play 18 holes of golf at the lovely Links at Carillon Golf Course.  It will be a best ball scramble and there will be exciting course games including, several opportunities for hole-in-one’s with prizes and a chance to win a Harley Davidson.

If you’re not into golfing, come join us for the Luau in the evening.  There will be a pig roast with plenty to drink and a live band for your dancing pleasure.  There is still room available for golfing and the luau, so register online at golf outing.

Could you use some extra cash?  If so, take a chance on our Cash Raffle.  Tickets are available for $1 each or 6 tickets for $5.  There will be five winning prizes from fifth prize winning $100 up to the grand prize winner of $500!  Winners need not be present so this is a great way to support the event if you’re not able to attend.  For more information about purchasing raffle tickets prior to the event, please contact Michael Trimpe.

Horizon’s Candlelight bowl was held on Saturday, April 25.  Nearly 90 people were in attendance and everyone enjoyed themselves.  The evening included three games of bowling.  The final game, watching people bowl with their eyes closed, standing on one leg or bowling between your partner’s legs was entertaining even for the spectators.  There was good food and excellent music provided by the DJ, A-Z Entertainment.  The highlight of my evening was watching everyone trying to win a variety of wonderful raffle prizes, after all, the more raffle tickets you purchased the better chance of winning your prize.
Thanks to everyone for attending and especially the organizers of this fun event.  Let me know when next year’s event is coming so I can put it on my calendar.

Horizon is bringing back its Candlelight bowl fundraiser.  This fundraiser will be held on Saturday, April 25.  Dust off your bowling shoes and get ready for an exciting evening of fun with your Horizon friends & family.  All proceeds from this event will help fund the 2009 summer camp program.  Horizon needs your help to raise money!!!

We have been getting some great activity on our GoodSearch page. I think it’s awesome how the members of this organization have stepped up and started doing this. The Morton Grove Foundation hosts an annual charity fundraiser and this year’s is on Thursday, March 5. “TASTE OF PARADISE” will be held at White Eagle Banquets & Restaurant, 6845 Milwaukee Ave. in Niles, Illinois. The foundation offers cuisine served by many of the area’s finest restaurants, along with raffles, silent auction and a live auction. Money from this event will be donated to some local charities and Horizon has been selected as a benefactor.
Admission tickets are $30 presale or $40 at the door. Raffle tickets are also available. I would personally like to thank everyone on the Night at the Races Committee for putting together a wonderful fundraising event for Horizon. Everyone made you feel like you were in Las Vegas, especially seeing Elvis and Lady luck in person. The buffet dinner was excellent and there were a large selection of prizes that people won. I only wish luck could of shined on me to win a prize but I still came home happy knowing that I was able to help a wonderful organization.

Horizon’s 11th Annual Night at the Races is quickly approaching. This has been our biggest fundraiser for the past 7 or 8 years and we need your to help keep the streak alive.
